What Are You Reading Right Now?

I'm reading...

Wicked and Son Of A Witch
By
Gregory Maguire
(19.99 at Barnes & Noble)

I've never really been a big fan of reading unless it was something I was super interested in or something with a really good plot, but Wicked is something I was intrigued abut since I first saw clips of the broadway musical. That's normally what it takes for me to read something I have to hear about it somewhere else. With the Twilight Saga, I only started reading it when I heard that the movie was based in the book. I read them all and read them fast, but only because I liked them and wanted to see what would happen in all the next movies. When I started seeing clips of Wicked on YouTube I thought it seemed fun, I loved the music, and I was a fan of The Wizards Of Oz when I was younger so of course, I loved the idea of getting to know more about the tow witches from the movie. The book is amazing, the beginning was more "adult" then I had anticipated but it was still all so well written and I honestly ended up feeling completely different about both lead characters then how I felt before I read it. Elphaba is a girl who has been an outcast her whole life, all because of her green skin and Glinda was this spoiled princess who judged every book by it's cover. When they first meet they of course can't stand one another, but then later maybe they realize their both just a bit misunderstood. You'll also find out what drove them apart and the truth about those ruby red slippers. It really was a great read and I just had to listen to all the Wicked songs I had downloaded after and while I was reading. Anyone who is a fan of the world of Oz, should read this book too. It'll give you an entirely new perspective!

Favorite Wicked Song:

Defying Gravity~Elphaba (Idina Menzel) ft. Glinda (Kristen Chenoweth)

Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by the rules
Of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes: and leap!

It's time to try
Defying gravity
I think I'll try
Defying gravity
Kiss me goodbye
I am defying gravity
And you wont bring me down!

I'm through accepting limits
''cause someone says they're so
Some things I cannot change
But till I try, I'll never know!
Too long I've been afraid of
Losing love I guess I've lost
Well, if that's love
It comes at much too high a cost!

I'd sooner buy
Defying gravity
I'm defying gravity
I think I'll try
Defying gravity
And you wont bring me down!

I'd sooner buy
Defying gravity
Kiss me goodbye
I'm defying gravity
I think I'll try
Defying gravity
And never bring me down!
bring me down!
ohh ohhh ohhhh!
