Husband

Guest post written by my buddy Aldo Mays

My husband is all bragging because he just signed us up for green mountain in new york energy. He keeps going on and on about what he is going to do with the money that we save. I keep telling him that any money we save needs to go to all the repairs we need done around the house. He is not into that though, because that means that he will actually have to do the repairs and they will have to be done either after he gets home from work in the evenings or on the weekends. He says that that is his time to just relax. Of course, I am quick to remind him that I work full time also and I have to do the laundry and mopping and sweeping on the weekends or in the evenings. I would love to lay back in his recliner and watch a show that I want to watch, but some things just have to get done. I am going to start keeping track of how much money I save using coupons so I can spend that money on pedicures!

Happy Valentine's Day Everybody!

If your in a relationship and in love, good for you. I wish you nothing but the best today. But if you're just as much apart of the lonely heart's club as I am today, I say to you don't be down, it's a Hallmark holiday anyway! So rather then siting in, and stuffing our faces full of ice cream while lounging around in clown pants, how about we be just be mature adults and list a few epic "romance films" that all those happy couples will be indulging in  tonight, that we find somewhat questionable...

The Twilight Saga...while I love the series, do I really need to point out how unromantic it is to have a hovering, over-protective boyfriend like Edward and a beastly best friend, with a horrible temper, who can't take no for an answer fighting over you.

Ghost...love it! Only seen it a few times, but still there is no happy ending here. All there is, is justice. The guy doesn't come back to life, they don't ride off into the sunset together. Nada.

Titanic...I find this movie seriously depressing. I've seen the movie, in it's entirety only once. My sisters will watch it every time it airs, but I cannot. I love 'My Heart Will Go On' and Kate Winslet just as much as the next person, but really no happy ending here either. He dies, she moves on, marries someone else, has a family with someone else, and granted he wanted all these things for her but I would have personally found it much more romantic if she just spent the rest her life alone and with a broken heart. Maybe that's just me though.

Keep in mind these are just a few of the many, I know there's about a thousand more but after a while all romance films start to seem the same to me. In my opinion the most romantic movie in the world though is... Beaches!

Beaches
I know what you're all thinking. Beaches is about two best friends, whom are both women, both straight, and their friendship spanning over thirty years. But really does every romantic film out there have to be between just lovers. Can't it be between two best friends, who were basically soul mates, and were there for one another through thick and thin too?

I am a firm believer, in the thought that more then just your husband or wife can be your soul mate. I think it can be anyone who you just have an instant connection with, even if it's just as friends. And again I know, Barbara Hershey dies in the movie so what makes this different from Titanic? Maybe the fact that Hilary lived on through her daughter, whom chose to stay with Cc after her mothers death, and lived on to what we can only presume was a happy ever after, as a family. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, maybe you think Jennifer's Body is the ultimate romance film because she kills all the boys, and that's what you want to do. Or Little Manhattan because you're cutesy like that. To each there own!

So do you have a favorite romantic film, that may not be the norm? What is it and why? Are you alone this Valentines Day, or are you currently happy and in love? Wherever you are and whatever you may believe, I hope you have a great day today, whether you'r celebrating Valentines or not.

EdenFantasys : The Kissaholic (Review)

Kissaholic aphrodisiac infused plumping lip gloss - Sensual bathKissaholic aphrodisiac infused plumping lip gloss - Sensual bath

I am a big online shopper, when I am shopping EdenFantasys, I shop the same as I do in a regular store. When it's time to hit the checkout I usually peruse the area by check out where you can find lip balms, wipes and little extras, just to throw a few other last-minute essentials that I need that I might not have seen in the store. So the other day I realized I needed a new lip balm, preferably with color. I hit lip color in the search area and on the second page found my new favorite go-to everyday lip color. The Kissaholic aphrodisiac infused plumping lip gloss made by one of my favorite brands Booty Parlor, caught my eye. It was exactly what I was looking for, well maybe a bit more color, but this gloss is a moisturizing, paraban free gloss that comes in 6 very pretty shades. I immediately fell in love with cinnamon and peppermint (above), I knew that these two shades would be perfect for changing up my lips. It took a few days for my order to arrive and when it did I was very pleased with the two glosses. What a great silky feeling they leave on my lips and the color is durable enough that I am not touching up all the time. I really love the scent and enjoy the cooling sensation that you get on your lips after application. Next I really  want to get the berry/honey for when I go out in the evening, this is more of a dark, dramatic color that will look great at night.

What a lucky moment I had when I found these new glosses which have become part of my every day beauty routine. I would not have guessed that I would find such an item at EdenFantasys, which is an adult store that sells sex toys, adult items and of course now so many beauty/fashion items too. There is always something new I want and only once have I returned an item and that was because it did not fit. If you are looking for a new online shopping adventure, I suggest vising EdenFantasys.

Bow Down To The Queen!

After a throat surgery that could have broken her career for good, Adele is back! Making her return to live performing at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, where she cleaned up with 6 wins including; 'Record Of The Year' for Rolling In The Deep, 'Album Of The Year' for 21, 'Song Of The Year' for Rolling In The Deep, 'Best Pop Solo Performance' for Someone Like You, 'Best Pop Vocal Album' for 21, and  'Best Short Form Music Video' for Rolling In The Deep. And it must be said she was incredible, stunning, magical, and just completely flawless!

Adele- Rolling In The Deep (Live at the Grammy's)

The applause and standing ovation speak for itself. Simple is so much better, take notes Nicki Minaj! That crazy and dramatic c**p is only necessary when you don't have the talent to back it up. Let the voice speak for itself!

Ouch Purchase: Joovy Caboose Stand On Tandem Stroller

Joovy Caboose Stand On Tandem Stroller

I call this an "ouch" purchase because this was an item that I purchased as a gift that I hadn't planned on. It was a bit pricier than most gifts I give away, but it was a gift my sister really needed for her kids and one morning I woke up and saw that a few colors, including this apple tree, where on sale at Amazon for $132.95. So I bit the bullet and hit the Buy Now button before I could change my mind. I don't have kids myself, but I find myself making a lot of baby and children purchases because I am a very good aunt and almost mom to a few of these kiddos. I would see my sister struggle with her new baby in his stroller and her toddler either had to walk or be held, and when I saw this stroller I knew that it was going to be perfect for them, I also really fancy this lovely green shade. I have it ready to give them this weekend when they come over for lunch and I know they are going to love it. I guess that makes this ouch purchase okay.

Do You Twitter Party?

I have a few online friends who always rave and rave about twitter parties and all the prizes they win during these parties. I have however never attended a twitter party, and if you look into my twitter you will see why. I am not a big twitter person at all, I almost never use it and only opened the account when a friend suggested that I would need one for my blog. Same thing with Facebook, I don't think I have ever posted anything on either one and always wonder if I should just shut both account down. So I guess I am not a very bog social networker huh? That's fine really, I never started this blog to become the social media queen and don't really ever have the time for it. But I am really curious about these twitter parties, so I have been putting them up on my calendar as the invitations arrive and will try to make it to one this week. That way I can see for myself what the hype all about and if they really are fun or just about the prizes. Are they interesting and informative or are they just a new place to win great prizes? I plan to find out soon...have you ever won a prize at a Twitter Party?
