Plumbing Problems & Plumbers Crack. Eww!

So for the past couple of months there has been a drip in my shower that's basically caused my water bill to sky rocket. I told my landlord about it and he sent a guy that did not know under any circumstances hot to fix it, so my step dad  offered to do it when they came over to fix my kitchen sink (another problem, I'll be bring up shortly) as long as he could borrow their tools seeing as I don't own any. He fixed it in less then an hour. I mean really I had a whole mess of water bills that were sky high, and had no choice but to pay them, but if I had just had my step dad take a look in the first place I would have spared myself allot of money. It's not completely my fault I mean, the landlord should have sent someone who knew how to fix it in the first place not an old man, who's basically blind, and would need a manual.

Plumbing problem number two, my sink has been linking forever and is constantly getting clogged up. The clogging up is new, but the leak was supposedly fixed just two weeks ago, then it got clogged up, I bought a brand new plunger and tried to fix it and it worked, for a couple of minutes. Not even an hour later I'm trying again, and again, and again. It wasn't until again, my step dad tried that we saw that all this plunger use caused  a leak under the sink. So I called the landlord and asked him to send someone over as soon as possible the next day, and they don't show until the late afternoon. Supposedly they fixed the clog and were going to have to return the next day with a piece for the leak, but of course just an hour later the sink is clogged up and the leak has gotten a whole hell of allot worse. I didn't even bother with the call since I knew they would be coming over again today, and as soon as they walked in I told them  they tried something different and FINALLY it actually seems to  be working. After this got fixed is when my step dad volunteered to fix the shower, needless to say I had quite a bit of cleaning to do afterwards.

While the clogs, the leaks, and the near constant cleaning of water is certainly annoying, one of the things I hate most about plumbing issues is this...

Plumbers crack!!!! Ewwwwwww!!!!!!!!! And it's always on the most unattractive guys too. Why can't a plumber who looks like Mike Delfino, from Desperate Housewives exist?! Why do all my plumbers have to be old and ugly?! Definitely not feeling all that fab today. :(

Hopped over from Hoppin Weekend.

I wonder why plumbers don;t wear belts? Seems an easy enough solution. Love that you snapped a picture. That is priceless! Did he notice?

Having two plumbing problems, at the same time sounds horrible. Did the plumbers inform you about the cause of the leak in your faucet? I hope that after their second try, they were able to fix the problem properly.
